Tea on Tuesday

                                      Today's tea is a new Stash tea I discovered- Lavender Tulsi- definite scent of lavender, with the peppery tulsi flavor. I am not usually a big fan of Tulsi teas, but this one is nice.

                                               

I am using one of a thrift store set of black and white  English Alfred Meakin ironstone- Old Orchard pattern.
I bought these several years ago to resell, but, as you can see, they never left!!!

Ponder This.......................

I recently subscribed to an online newsletter from  The DAILY OM (Thanks, Patty!)I thought today's email was well worth passing on. 

We live in a world where we sometime think what we say or do does not matter. There are days when I sometimes feel that I am but one teeny fish in a huge, over populated, and sometimes polluted pond. LOL

I have always believed the choices we make, not only affect ourselves and our own daily lives, but, unbeknownst to us, can have a ripple effect, touching the lives of people we may never meet.....that, of course, has not stopped me from making some really wrong choices in my day to day living, at times!!! I guess some of us need a reminder to think before we act, myself included!!

Below is today's email from The Daily Om- some food for thought for today:


"All motive and action affects the cosmos in some way. The principle of cause and effect is the truth that allows us to change ourselves and the world around us for the better. However, this same universal law is also at work when change is not at the forefront of our minds. Our intentions flow forever outward in the form of energy, affecting both the people closest to us and billions of individuals we will likely never meet. For this reason, we should strive always to speak, think, and behave with great thoughtfulness and compassion. The virtues we choose to embody can inspire joy and integrity in the lives of countless people, whether we touch their existence directly or not.

The influence we wield is infinite. In an effort to internalize our conscious understanding of the nature of cause and effect, we can never truly know how our thoughts, emotions, words, or actions will manifest themselves on the larger universal stage because it is likely that the furthest-reaching effects will fall outside the range of our perception. Tea on Tuesday

Following Kimmie and Patty's lead, "T" is for............TARDY!!!!!! That is what I am for posting this soooo late again.

I must remember to pre-post - since it seems like Tuesdays get away from me lately!!!!

"T" is also for "true blue" - the color of my heavy, primitively handmade pottery mug - another thrift store find - the artist made it his own Starbucks mug - by incising that name on it before firing! Today it is filled with some Bigelow Lemon Lift tea.

"T" is also for "turkey" - the leftovers are FINALLY finished, and the two of the wild ones just marched across my front lawn on their trek to the river!! Just before Thanksgiving there were 7 in that march - I hope the other 5 did not fall prey to the Thanksgiving Day hunt!!!!

"T" is for "tired - what I am after partially cleaning the paddocks! Did you know 3 full wheelbarrows of horse manure = 1 full tractor bucket and one sore back??????

"T" is for "trained"- what the horses are when they see their leather halters. They know they are going outside of their now brown paddocks to graze in the still green hay fields. Wait a minute, WHO is training WHO!!?!!

"T" is for "tarry" - what I am doing right now- sitting on the mounting block, in the sun, keeping the horses in my peripheral vision, while writing this post.....................

Award Time

Imagine my surprise, while reading my bloggy friend Linda's latest post, to find that she had some very sweet words to say about me and "presented" me with an award!!! Coulda knocked me over with the proverbial feather, but I very happily accept and was finally able to claw my way out of some level of computer illiteracy and figure out how to post the award in my sidebar!!! Sentiments right back atcha' Linda........:>)

Blogging has opened a whole new world for me, that I look forward to checking in every morning. I have made some wonderful cyber friends, acquaintances,and connections, and have learned so much along the way- whether it be in the world of art, farming, or computerese!!!

So, now I get to pass the award along. I will only pass it to one - even tho alot of people would and do deserve it. It goes to people who are warm, caring and sharing, who maybe have alot on their plate or in their lives some days, but always manage to post with a smile!!! The words I "borrowed" from one of the original posts of this award( the blog that awarded it to Linda): "people you admire, you are learning from and those who inspire you enough at succeeding with your next project".

I pick Patty to pass this on to! She was the one who got me into blogging a year or so ago, and never fails to amaze me with the depth of her artsy knowledge and her endless talent- sometime to the point of greenish tinged envy!! LOL

So, thanks again, Linda, and now the award is passed on to Patty!!! And, I, go on with the rest of my day, with a smile on my face and a skip in my step..........

Tea on Tuesday

Well, here I am, in the garden, at the crack of early, before the heat rolls in.

I'm having a mug of tea, in another thrift store mug, that was actually made by the local Broadway Pottery!
Today's tea is Tulsi tea - which has 2 kinds of Indian basil in it - good for what ails ya'!!!
My other favorite tea of late, is one my friend picked up for me while in Japan.
It is called Mugi-cha, a roasted barley tea. It is delicious, hot or cold, and is what is called a summer tea.
